Part 15: The rise of partnership education

Part 15: The rise of partnership education

Hello everyone,

Happy Monday! I hope everyone had a great weekend.

It’s a cold one here in Salt Lake City, snow already covering the mountains, winter is definitely on the way.

A wild aspect of this newsletter is the different geographic locations of subscribers!

On the last count, we have 38 different counties represented.

For those of you in Brazil - I am jealous, probably a lot warmer than I am!

It is truly amazing that with a click of a button I can reach people all over the world.

Before we dive in, I wanted to ask all of you a small favor.

If you get any value out of this newsletter (open rate is sitting at a nice 70%) then I would love you spreading the word.

This takes time to write, and every new subscriber helps.

Anyone that drops a nice LinkedIn post, will get a special treat (hint: it’s a template) 👀👀

Appreciate you all!

partnerships in the wild

I’m going to cheat this week.

You can’t talk partnerships without talking about Zapier.

The OG connector that makes integrations so so easy.

🤍Love the tool! Recently created a cool zap that sends a welcome email to everyone that signs up for the newsletter.

🤍 Love the team (s/o to Cody Jones who recently announced he was leaving after building that program).

🤍 Love how it makes partnerships happen!

Onto this week's topic!

This one is a little look into the state of partnerships.

Specifically the groundswell that seems to be happening in the community.

The byproduct of this groundswell is information and education.

I still think in a lot of cases we are learning as we go.

No program is created equally.

But I will say that the amount of content being produced at the moment is certainly making things easier.

We have a media company in PartnerHacker who are literally building content on a daily basis (P.S sign up for the PLX event next week. It's going to be a banger!)

Podcasts, newsletters (not as good as mine but still good 😂😘) and long form content.

The way that the Financial Times is a staple of Wall Street, I truly believe that PH daily should be consumed daily by partnership pros.

You then have software tools such as Crossbeam, Reveal, Kiflo and PartnerSpark that are doubling down on thought leadership.

These companies are leading with value.

The same way that HubSpot is the go to for all things marketing.

These companies are leading the way in the world of partnerships.

Don’t know what an acronym means? Check out these publications.

Don’t know how to build a program? Check out these publications.

If you only take away one action from this newsletter, go onto one of these websites and dive into their blog posts.

You won’t regret it.

This brings me onto a different medium, but still one that has a ton of content for partner pros.

Audio.

Especially podcasts.

Howdy Partners

Podcasts are great because it adds some humanity to the world of partnerships.

There’s nothing better in my opinion than hearing people talk about their experiences.

The content becomes more engaging and real.

You also get to hear from guests that are vastly experienced in the world of partnerships, and give you access to information that you would never be able to get normally.

Get listening!

The final place that contains an abundance of information are communities.

There are many that exist, but Partnership Leaders is the one I will call out for being a source of constant information.

Have a problem in your program? Chances are there will be someone in the community that has experienced it before.

Need advice on what type of marketing collateral you need in your program? There are plenty of partnership marketers that are in the community willing to give their advice.

It comes at a cost, but is worth every penny in my opinion.

As James Clear says “If you get one percent better each day for one year, you'll end up thirty-seven times better by the time you're done”

With the resources that are available to you now in partnerships, what’s your excuse?

Let’s learn together and help partnerships become THE GTM strategy for businesses.

Until next week…👋

Cheers,

Ben
